Frequently Asked Questions

Coaching creates space to slow down, think more clearly, and move forward with intention.
I like to think of it as a road trip. You’re the driver. You decide where you're going. I’m in the navigator seat asking thoughtful questions, offering perspective, and helping you stay on the route that feels right for you.
Coaching isn’t about someone telling you what to do. It’s about creating the space to discover what's most important to you and helping you act on it.
Coaching is not a substitute for mental health support from a licensed clinician.

Coaching is different from consulting and therapy, though there are some similarities.
Consultants analyze challenges and recommend solutions. Therapists help people understand and work through mental health concerns and past experiences.
As a coach, my role is different. I create space for reflection, ask thoughtful questions, and help you uncover the insights and next steps that are right for you. Rather than giving you answers, I help you build the awareness and confidence to find your own.

Every coaching conversation is different because every client is different.
We’ll usually begin by checking in, talking about what’s changed since we last met, and deciding what feels most important to focus on that day. My role is to ask thoughtful questions, notice patterns, challenge assumptions when needed, and help you make progress toward the goals you’ve identified.
Some people leave with practical next steps. Others leave with a new perspective or a question to keep exploring. Every conversation builds on the last.

Coaching is most valuable when you’re ready to reflect, experiment, and try something different.
If you’re feeling stuck, navigating change, stepping into a new leadership role, recovering from burnout, or simply wanting to lead with more intention, coaching can help.
During our initial conversation, we’ll talk about what you’re hoping for and whether coaching feels like the right fit. If I don't think I’m the best person to help, I’ll tell you.
-
Finding the right coach matters.
I always encourage people to talk with a few different coaches before making a decision. Coaching is built on trust, and you’ll get the most from the experience if you feel comfortable being honest and challenged.
That’s why I offer a chemistry call before we begin. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other, talk about what you're looking for, and decide together whether working together feels right.

LEGO® Serious Play® is a facilitated problem-solving method that helps teams think differently, communicate more openly, and explore complex challenges together.
Participants build simple models using LEGO bricks to represent ideas, experiences, or goals. Those models become the starting point for conversations that often uncover insights that wouldn't surface through discussion alone.
It isn’t about being artistic or “playing with toys.” It's a research-based facilitation method that's engaging, surprisingly effective, and yes, genuinely fun.

No.
While I’m based in Seattle, I work with leaders and organizations across the country and world. Coaching is available virtually, and I regularly travel to facilitate workshops, retreats, and leadership programs.
If your team is outside the Seattle area, I’d love to talk about what would work best.
-
I work with leaders who care deeply about their people and want to create healthier workplaces.
Many of my clients work in higher education, nonprofits, and other mission-driven organizations, but I also partner with leaders across the public and private sectors.
Whether you’re an individual leader, part of a leadership team, or an organization investing in your people, my work is grounded in the same belief: the way we work matters just as much as the work we do.

Yes.
I want coaching to be as accessible as possible. I offer payment plans and have a limited number of sliding-scale spots available.
If cost is what’s keeping you from reaching out, let’s talk. We’ll see whether there's an option that feels workable.
